Hey, I’m Jorge Sivit!
I’m a native Spanish teacher from Madrid, Spain.
I’ve been teaching Spanish for more than 12 years in Spain, Germany and Japan, where I’ve been helping all kinds of people, from different parts of the world, learn Spanish in an effective way.
Languages are my passion. I’ve been learning foreign languages all my life; probably since I first met my cousins in Barcelona and I had to speak Catalonian to be able to communicate with them. Then pretty soon came English and later German. I lived for 10 years in Japan, and I’m in love with its language too.
After teaching Spanish in very different environments such as language schools, cultural centers and a university, I transferred the language school I owned in Japan, and returned to Spain to become a full time online teacher.
During these years I’ve been able to meet many Spanish students that have helped me learn about Spanish and language learning at least as much I have helped them. Every day that goes I’m deeper in love with languages and my mission to facilitate Spanish learning to non-native speakers.
If you would like me help you internalize Spanish usage and grammar, so you can speak, write and understand Spanish better, get in touch with me so we can schedule a trial lesson.
For me, it’s not about just teaching, but about working together with learners to find their own way to understand and learn Spanish, just as I’ve done with my foreign languages. This has led us to create resources together that often help other students too. And this is how my (never ending) mission to create the best Spanish learning resources started.
Now I also help other teachers discover new ways to guide their students and provide them with Spanish learning resources they can use in their own classes.
If you are a teacher, you can find ready to use lessons in my store.
When I’m not teaching, writing, thinking or dreaming about languages, I love moving (climbing, hiking, skateboarding), reading, cooking, and playing around with my daughters.
Thank you for taking the time to read this! I hope to see you on Light On Spanish sometime soon and hear from you.
