haber: to be (as in there is, there was, there has been, there will be...)
NOTE: haber is an impersonal verb. Grammatically, it has no subject and the person or thing that there is is the direct object. This means that it only has one invariable form for each tense–we use these single forms even if there are several people or things. However, there are other forms that are used to build the perfect tenses as an auxiliary verb. You can see them in the conjugation charts for any other verb.
